Feral | Wolf Painting & Survivor Poem by Choctaw Artist Connie D. Phillips. *Feral* is a wolf painting on copper paired with a survivor's poem. It speaks
for those who carry betrayal but refuse to remain silent. The wolf becomes every
woman who hunts the truth and rises from the shadows.
Feral
Rising from shadows,
She stands in moonlight.
Long, lean,
A cold wind whips
Her wild mane.
She scours the darkness,
Hunting where
He buried his lies
Under half-truths and
Shadows.
His treachery cracks like
Bone between her teeth.
She throws back her head,
Her cry rips the night
to shreds.
The stench of his deceit
Lingers like rot.
She turns to follow,
Silent, savage.
Her steps quicken.
From the deep,
She growls.
